Summer Widner '03 Presented with a 2023 Secretary's Honor Achievement Award
On February 20, 2024, Summer Widner ’03, who works at Oak Ridge National Laboratory as a Nuclear Materials Manufacturing Engineer, was presented with a 2023 Secretary’s Honor Achievement Award from the Department of Energy. This is the Department of Energy’s highest form of employee recognition. Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm and Under Secretary Geri Richmond presented the award to the Actinium-225 Tri-Lab Research Team, of which Summer is a part. Under Secretary Richmond announced the team received the award “for their amazing research and development efforts in increasing the global availability of this important isotope, a radioisotope long sought after in the medical community for its cancer-fighting potential.”- Full story HERE.

Mary Todd Lincoln Rose Garden Addition
Sandie McClung Stapleton ’73 and Rebecca Mullins Falce ’74 represented the LMU Class of 1973 to plant a memorial rose at the Mary Todd Lincoln Rose Garden to honor deceased classmates from the 1973 class. July 8-13, the Alumni Travel Program is hosting a cruise aboard the Celebrity Reflection. This will be a magical cruise filled with special moments, warm tropical breezes, incredible cuisine, and exciting destinations.  We’ll set sail from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, head south and enjoy ports of call in Key West, Florida, Bimini & Nassau Bahamas.
